And to be honest I was about to tell them all to bite me, as I was DESPERATE to go to the movies and see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, preferably in the company of a large bag of Malteasers. But goddamn it, the kid needed a bit of culture and I wanted to test the security at The Star Casino where the show was being held.

| Jack and Cousin Rosie The show was coming to the end of the run and so it was packed with people who for the last however months kept looking at the ads and saying "We really should go and see Annie..." And then the ads start saying LAST WEEK!!!! and so everyone has a mouth frothing session and books tickets. AND because it "stars" (a term I am using VERY loosely) Alan Jones, most of the seats were taken by the Grey Army.  I took this photo a mili-second before security morphed on front of me, demanding I delete any photos taken in the Lyric Theatre. I promised them I had deleted them so this is a teeny tiny win. I should have actually demanded to see the Manager at this point, as earlier, when we were lining up with a thousand grandmas to get into the venue, I slipped on the marble floors and went down like a sack of shit. Half a dozen people rushed over and helped me, asking if I was ok (which I wasn't. I was DYING of bruising and embarrassment). But as I lay there on that cold marble floor, I thought headlines. SLIP AND FALL AT THE STAR LEAVES MOTHER MORTIFIED THAT SHE CANNOT PUT ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER - LEGAL ACTION BEING CONSIDERED. But there were signs everywhere telling me to be careful, so I do not like my chances for compensation.  no shit |
