We are moving.
I then wandered around the place and got myself worked up into a bit of a panic. We have been living here for 6 years and in that time have collected all variety of shit that will need to be sorted. The garage is full on manly toys and the storage room which runs off the laundry houses dozens of plastic boxes which contain fuck knows what.
But there are 3 things that upset me the most and these are the things that we bought and rarely use.
After suffering through 6 years of hellish summers, this year we bit the bullet and installed a big-ass air conditioning unit. I have blogged about it here. It was a big, big deal. Since installing that air-conditioner, we have had the coldest summer in the history of the world and the air conditioner has been switched on 4 times, including once to heat the house up.
COST PER USE $320
We bought this Weber BBQ maybe 18 months ago. The salesman at BBQ Galore insisted it will change our lives, so we replaced the rusted out Rinnai with this swanky looking thing. It is a total piece of crap that takes an hour to heat up and then, when the temperature is just right and you are well and truly pissed because you have been waiting until the temperature is just right, the thing turns itself off.COST PER USE $130
This is a roof boot and you can see them on cars during December and January when families take to the roads for holidays. Mr Woog wanted to be one of those families who did road trips. I detest road trips. But he bought one anyway. It has made a really nice garage decoration for the past 3 years.
